New OnePlus Phone With Snapdragon 460 Chipset in the Works?

OnePlus is making affordable phones once again. They recently launched OnePlus Nord, which took the market by storm. Ever since there are leaks and speculations for a new imaginary OnePlus phone. Recently folks over at XDA developers revealed a new OnePlus device with Snapdragon 690 chipset, which could be in the works.

But this came as a total surprise when a leaker revealed a OnePlus phone with codename ‘Clover’ powered by the Snapdragon 460 SoC. Thanks to some proprietary code digging by a trusted leaker (@_the_tech_guy).

He listed a bunch of chipsets, including the Snapdragon 855, Snapdragon 865, and Snapdragon 765G. OnePlus has phones supporting those chipsets. But there is an entirely new chipset, too – the SM4250.

The SM4250 chipset goes by the name Snapdragon 460, which was released earlier this year. So, it’s a new chipset and is currently running on Vivo Y20, Vivo Y20i, and OPPO A53. These devices are yet to be launched.

More interestingly, all these devices come from the same parent company (BBK Electronics). So, it’s not hard to assume that these leaks might actually be true, and OnePlus could be launching a new entry-level phone equipped with Snapdragon 460 chipset.
